The PW17-2 Medium Width Picture Frame Spring Clip (SKU S07) is the medium-format specialist in XKY Framing’s serrated-foot spring clip family. With a 24 mm wide body and the grip-enhancing serrated foot of its larger sibling the PW17, the S07 provides superior lateral stability for medium-sized frames — 25×35 cm to 40×50 cm — where standard small clips may lack sufficient coverage and the full-size PW17 is unnecessarily large.

The defining feature shared by both the PW17 (S06) and the PW17-2 Medium Width Picture Frame Spring Clip (S07) is the serrated foot. The series of small teeth along the foot edges grip the inner rabbet surface mechanically, preventing the clip from sliding laterally under the weight of the glass panel or during frame transport. This mechanical grip is particularly important in medium frames — large enough that the glass panel weight is significant, but often assembled and transported repeatedly in a workshop environment where undetected clip migration can lead to loose content in the finished frame.

At 24 mm wide and 17 mm tall, the S07 strikes the balance between coverage and compactness that medium frames require. The 10 mm tall head slot accommodates rabbet lips from the thinner profiles common in medium wood mouldings. The 4 mm body slot depth is appropriate for standard single-mat or light double-mat configurations — the primary content assemblies in medium-format display frames.

At 0.8 g, the PW17-2 is lighter than the PW17 (1.7 g) but still heavier than PW20 (0.5 g), reflecting its intermediate size and holding capacity position in the XKY range.
